There is no way in hell I would use oilfield tubing. If it is brand new, it is worth more than bending into a cage and if its been down in the hole, then the inside could be pitted or washed out from the frac job. It would be worth more to sell to ranchers or whoever to use as fence/cattle guards/gates.

yea i saw pics of that wag on pirate and ifsja, its a sweet rig. The oilfield stuff was used just for transport of oil, not in the hole so no worry about frac damage but either way I doubt ill be using it, ill probably just use 1.75x.120 hrew (thats strong enough right).

an update on the progress so far:

    motor mounts replaced
fixed oil leak (valve cover gasket)
    straightened the body out
    replaced back window
    replaced windshield

so as of now it is driveable, went down to pick up some tube today but they were out of 1.75 x .120 and 2 x .120 so i guess ill wait on that.

    things left to do:
shackle flip the rear with old springs (should net the same lift so hopefully it wont look weird)
    put pass seat in
    roll bar
    tune the carb up
    get inspected somewhere
get and install a new alt... hopefully a cs144 if i can find one, any leads?
put the elec fan in and wire it up
make new bumpers if i get the time and steel
roll bar, same thing with time and steel

ive decided im not gonna chop the roof just yet because its my only car to drive around, once i get enough money for a dd then ill chop it and put a cage in, the roll bar should be fine for now

How'd you end up straightening the body out? For the alternator, Gordons wants $40 for them, you might want to check out some yards while you're at home to see if you can get one cheaper. Or try ebay, thats where I've gotten mine.

used the diesel and a tow strap and slowly pulled until it was straight, or at least straight enough to get the windshield back. i didnt really expect it to work but amazingly enough it did. The back drivers side door still has a dent but i may try to get that out later

I got bored today and decided to build a rear bumper with a tire/hi-lift carrier. ill try to get some pics tomorrow
