    Voodoo

I figured it was about time I post up the hell my truck has been through and where I hope for it to go. I bought the truck from my dad two years ago. Basically:
    1999 F150 4x4 Ext. Cab Short Bed
    5.4L V8 Engine
Offroad package (shocks, skidplate, small lift)
    Magnaflow exhaust system
We used the truck mainly to haul gear and a 4-wheeler to and from the ranch in Junction as well as to carry corn to the deer stands. We also used to wheel it out there on the rocks and hills and creekbeds. I'm not going to use this as my trail rig, just to make it a nice DD and still be able to wheel it over the weekend if I want to.

Here's how she used to look:

After some wheeling and whatnot she kinda got beat to hell and I figured I'd take this as an opportunity to make her nice and still wheel pretty well.

    Rebuild process:

From here, I went ahead and decided to do some performance upgrades. I ordered a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift, a JET performance chip, and a K&N 77 series intake.

Since then I restored the interior which had gotten beat to hell and cut up.

Right now I'm putting money away on the side for a trail rig for her to tow around. About the only things left to go on her are new shocks next month, take her in to get the door and door locks fixed and a coat of flat black, then a suspension lift and some new tires. That pretty much sums up everything.

it was a pain and i still have more to do to it..the goal is to make it really nice, not neccasarily a true trail rig..something to be comfortable in while i haul a small rig

So my old shocks were pretty much **** so over December I replaced them with some Rancho RSXs

    Front

    Back

Heres how the shocks looked compared to each other

So far they work wonders compared to what the facotry gave me. The front ones were especially shot so there definetly a difference in ride quality and I can't wait to try em out offroad.

BTW the hole on the stock back shock was because the exhaust system put on by the shop ran too close and melted it, so I had to slighty shift the system so it won't do the same.

What is everyone's opinion on the red boots? On my bronco I left them off. Do they actually do anything? I know they are supposed to protect the shock, but what if water/dirt gets in there?

I think they are supposed to keep dirt and water out. the zip ties made a good seal so id assume it works..tho i dont know if getting water/dirt/debris in ur shocks is a frequent occurance if u dont have the boots? If yall are leaving em off id assume not

I had them on, when one ripped off the white body of the shock covered by the boot was rusted to hell. So i tore the last 3 off. I'll never put them on again.
