    Good Floor Jack

We've been nursing along the old craftsman floor jack for awhile now. It probably has lasted 10 years or better, but it doesn't seem like it. Who has a badass king mother floor jack and where did you get it? Lower the profile the better. It'd be nice if Fred didn't have to drive up on 2x4 blocks to get under his Camaro. Ed, what's Uncle Sam provide?

    Pops found these two:

    The top one:

    http://www.asedeals.com/Ranger_floor_jacks.html

    And these:

The second ones are probably more than we want to spend. Anyone have any experience with either?

JUNK, with a capital J... Most of the motorpool stuff here is wore out, I will go check out the brands, but don't think it is anything like snap-on or craftsman.

well I'm not real impressed with craftsman, I think snap on is about the same. My Gramps had a blackhawk back in the day, it was a bad dood, but I don't think parts can be had for it anymore.

I'd like to get a 2-post and quit rolling around on the floor, but that is probably a ways out still.

I do run into them quite often for some reason(4 in the last 2 months), if I had a bigger place I think I would stash'em and start slangin' lifts on the side.

don't spend that kind of coin on a jack. the ac delco are plenty good. we got the two we have rebuilt w/ new seals for $75 a pc. they have 2 stage cylinders. I went to a very busy tire shop and that's what they used, so that says something....I think discount uses them also. the other jacks we have are an old sears heavy SOB and we just bought a lincoln. it doesn't roll as easy as the ac delco but has a low profile..low enough to get under the fork lift which is pretty low. The ac delco's and lincoln's can all had at the swap meets if their are any left...I always see a guy out there that has them.

I'm looking into getting a jack now, and I saw the standard 3ton craftsman floor jack is on sale thru next weekend for $58. Is it worth it? I only know 3 people with a craftsman jack....Jimmy says he's been nursing his, Luis has one that's been working fine for about 5 years, and my old roomate Ryan says his buddy replaced his craftsman jack 6 times in 1 year, and finally got his money back for it.

This is the one I'm looking at:

    jack

I bought one of those fancy aluminum harbor freight ones. Wasn't too expensive thanks to HF's many sales(20% coupon=woohoo), and works great so far from when I've used it on the Cherokee. It'll lift that thing pretty damn high.

Fancy and Harbor Freight used in the same sentence. Go figure.
