4.3 to 5.7?

A friend of mine wants to change out his 4.3 vortec to 5.7 vortec. What all entails in the swap, like computer, sensors, wires?

I'm also interested. I need something for my Cruiser. A 4.3 would probably do. I can't imagine it would have less (or much less) power than my old tired 350.

Im more interested in the swap, not the actual motor because its sold.

I assume this is going in a truck that had a 4.3 factory?

a less reliable more expensive version of the factory offerings

sell it and buy something better

my money is on never running again once the 4.3 is pulled, but heres some of the things I know are different

need to add wires for the 2 injectors
PCM is different
exhaust

seems like I've seen a few different pinouts for the 4.3 and 5.7 of the vortec era, so PCM and harnesses years would have to match

Yeah, you can pick up a 5.3 just about anywhere these days....even Springtown, TX.

(add another one to the BMF collection)
