    727 problem, i think

recently the jeep has been acting like a jeep. Once coming to a stop after running for a bit the engine will die. It sounds like a manual does if you slow down without putting the clutch in. Im thinking its the torque conveter locking up and not releasing. Any other suggestions?

also forgot to mention that if you put it in neutral before it stops, then put it back in gear after it stops, itll idle fine.

Sounds like the valve body is hanging up. Might try fluid change and a filter.

i concur with mike. torque converters are more likely to not engage than not disengage. they usually make noise too.

well the fluid and filter was replaced not too long ago. One of the springs borke a while ago and just left shards in there, so thats more than likely the problem. I thought we got all of the pieces out before but i guess not.

That'd most likely be the AMC version of the TH400, with the output meant for a quadratrac. It'd be a little more difficult.

Pretty sure all waggys of that era were the same side drop(driver's), and being a manual tranny that should have an NP208 I believe.
