Well, I decided to change all the fluids in the Jeep today(which is a story in its own), which is not thread worthy. But what I found in the bottom of my rear diff is.
As I Began draining the rear diff fluid I heard a something fall out the drain plug with the fluid????? I reach in and pulled out the head of a sheard of bolt... So after I removed the diff cover this is what I found.
Actually no, I do not see any gear damage, nor thread damage. Apperently the ring was not tightnd properly. I tightnd up a couple of the other bolts by hand, But I see no damage. I think im just going to get some new ring bolts and see what happens. I just or hope I cought it just in time. We will see when I pull it completely apart. It appears the the bolts were damage while rotating out of the carrier against the housing.
