Alright I am throwing a new carb in the 40 but it has an electric choke and well the 40 didn't originally have one of those. Anybody know anything about chokes, and can i just go pick one up at o'reily's and throw the ***** in there and hook it up?

I am fawking clueless at anything electrical...

I could come by later and help ya. But yea ya could just throw a electric carb on. Just need to find an ignition hot wire to tie into.

    pick up a choke?

If the carb has an electric choke, all you need to do is hook up power to it, which on my edelbrock was two wires. And if the wires came off then it went to full choke.

Ok I think I figured it out while at my automation lab, I was freaking out cause I just had too much **** going wrong with this carb install, but I think i am going to be ok. I found only one post on the choke of my carb so i need to find the second post and figure out which is positive and negative so i can ground off one and then tap into some keyed source for the 12v. Man I am tired of **** going south on this damn truck.

If it's only got one terminal on the choke, it grounds through the carb housing more than likely. So that would be your positive.

Alrighty, got the leak fixed with some rtv sealant, had my best friend come in and help me get the mixture right, and now I am going to drive it home tomorrow 2.5 hours

    (let's hope nothing beaks...)
