    make sure you have room for a helmet in there too. I would say 4" head to bar minimum, and don't put the bar directly overhead. You'll probably wear just the lap belt most of the time, then cinch everything down when it gets tough, so make sure your head's not gonna be bouncing off a bar when you're running down a dirt road with the lap belt loose

    If I remember correctly the comp rules are 6" on top of the helmet - which is why we changed the cage on Hal's old Liberty buggy and on Greg's CJ for Troy.

    I think that 6" without a helmet is good for a trail rig. The Patrol is this way.

    I will probably change my bars a little depending on how I get my seats mounted. Problem is that I like to sit up high so I can see more - on top of that, it's Lynda's Jeep and she's short... We'll see what I do
