I had a tan one in my 88 XJ. Never seen a black interior on a jeep of that vintage, but you might be able to paint one or something. Go ask on JU, one of them might have one sitting around.

I believe thats the 80s style. I've seen that type in 80s FSJs and CJs if I remember right. I've always heard the nicer steering wheel called the sport steering wheel.

    sweet.

i would paint one, but me thinks it wont stick well in the weather and it looks like it would be a pain to paint with the lettering and the "screw heads".

anybody have a jeep with a gray steering wheel of the same vintage i can look at? gray would totally work for me, but i think the jeep gray is more of a blue gray.

theres a yj with a gray interior in those crappy apartments across the street. there aren't any windows in those buildings so you could probably open the jeep up and molest it all you want.

ah ha, i could "borrow" the steering wheel late one evening and go see how well it matches the seats.
