He was having problems with the case leaking, getting hot, and making noise like a bearing or something I believe.

yeah, thanks, i just found it and read it. im not too worried about it as i dont like that way of preloading the bearings. how do you know you have it loaded evenly? it should be a one bolt operation, not six. do they have shims, not washers, under the bolts, robbie?

See, that is what I was thinking. What if you accidentally tighten one bolt more then the other? Isn't that going to be worse and wear the bearing out even quicker? But then again, will you actually even need to tighten them, specially on a trail rig that won't have a whole bunch of miles on it?

I haven't actually seen it or read any of the paperwork that came with it since it came in. I had it shipped to my dad's office and he sent me a couple pictures. I'll have to look into it next time I go home.

Not much progress since the beginning of the semester. Only worked on it twice now but I'm hoping to get things going over the Christmas break.

    A couple of pics.

I found this picture from before I started the build.

    More recent work.

did that post get lost in the crash?

so are you going to have tie rod issues or is it just the picture angle?

Guess it got lost in the site crash. Yeah there are some clearance issues. You're running the same RE YJ leaf's right? I was looking at your spring hanger/tie rod clearance at Brandon's the other night. Seemed like your front hangers were low enough to keep the spring arch even avoiding tie rod clearance issues.

yeah, same springs. the rear eye of yours looks a little farther from the frame than mine is. the front hangers look about the same. im really not sure how much clearance i have up front either though. im not planning on putting anything up there.

I thought about arm spacers but don't want problems with shearing.

put the tie rod behind the axle. looks like you have plenty of room there.
