    Relay Wiring

Maybe this is the correct forum.... maybe not. Anyway, can someone tell me the correct way to wire a standard 4 terminal relay.

it is my understanding that the following terminal numbers should be wired like so:
85 - power wire from switch source. in this case, lets just call it the factory fuel pump.
    86 - ground wire to chassis/battery.
87 - power lead to auxiliary electronics. in this case, lets just call this part a secondary fuel pump.
30 - power wire from battery.

this would me that when the relay receives the signal from the switched source, factory fuel pump(terminal 85), it will close the switch between the power source(terminal 30) and the auxiliary electronics, secondary fuel pump( terminal 87).

    is this correct? flem?

this one doesnt have 87a terminal. ether way, everything i have found says that 87a is a normally closed circuit while 87 is the normally open circuit...

there's a picture on the relay. Complete the circuit to the coil and it closes the relay. I don't even think it matters which side is hot, it's not a diode
