this is what i have decided!
get it, weld it, sawzall all unwanted sheet metal, build some different bumpers and maybe some sort of cage, and wheel it till the wheels fall off!
And fix the headlight on the dodge

    Scout
Looks like a solid start, might be able to get it for $200!

Stumble in to the liquor store
With a dollar-fifty for a bottle of wine,
I know just what I'm lookin for
    Thunderbird will do just fine.

I'd bet on the scout for the same money.

You can wheel the Datsun 'til the wheels fall off, but I'm also betting it will be the first run to 47. Which for $300 that is fine. I just dropped $300 for 3 tickets to a football game, you will get at least that much enjoyment out of it. Also, if it gives you something to wrench on, you'll learn a lot, just don't listen to Sharpe! Worst case, it breaks something then you patch it together and see how far it will launch.

This isn't entirely true. The front output on my case was a slip yoke. Last time I checked, no one makes a slip yoke eliminator kit for a Mazda. In addition to that, the front output points up a little bit and there was no way I could find a driveshaft that would have made the drop. I would have had to move the axle pretty far forward. There are some details that need to be looked over on that truck before it is determined that a SAS can be done.

It's all in the details. I could SAS my little bro's bike given the proper tools, material and time. Nutz, you sir are a DS. It's that kind of thinking that got everybody to raggin on you about your pile to start with.

It's a good deal if you are happy w/ it, no matter what you paid or what some of the joos around here tell you.
