bored at work? I liked the 89 except for the chevy conversion. 6~9K vehicles are WAY out of the budget range, although I did like the 4runner. I am thinking I can find a running truck on craigslist with a 22RE, and either do an axle swap or add part along the way. I would pay more for a finished vehicle, but no projects, piles of parts, carburetors, or anything over 5K. Saw a CJ-7 here in SA for 3K, but I don't want to FI it.

I would also consider a cheep rover or FJ80 (maybe not so cheap).

not to be a dick, but you wouldn't fit in that truck. I also think it would be easier to find one that you just need to EFI instead of swapping in axles. That being said, if you go that route my dad has that grey one that needs a new front suspension anyway!

kind of my thought, why I wanted an x-cab. my winter insulation may not fit behind the steering comfortably

I like the deal on the 89 4runner for a grand, even comes with a spare.

It's in Poth. I'll probably see him later today. I think he said it was a broken CV. Should be able to replace the CV and make it to Gilmor next weekend. Feller have IFS parts he just cut off his 4runner?

Before I bought the 4runner, I found several FJ-80s in the $3000-3500 range. Granted they were not the more sought after models with electric lockers, but the prices are definitely coming down

Perfect. Find out who Eckert is selling his poop to. Maybe they have an extra front axle.
