Flem and I went over and hung out with St.John tonight. He's been busy doing a lot of different things. It's been so long since I've been over to look at it, I kind of forgot where he was at on the project. Oh yeah, welding his ass off, that's where he's at.

Here's some shots of the inside. He's finished up the floorboards and has been working on finishing out the dash. He added a speedo pod off the tach pod, but didn't have it installed, so I told him I'd get a pic of it later.

Here's some shots from the underside of the finished floor/firewall.

Here's a shot of the rear of the driver's rocker all sealed up:

Here's a shot of the rear latch on his high lift mount. It didn't dawn on me until I uploaded the pics that I didn't get a shot of the front mount. It's a pretty slick setup.

A shot from the rear. You can see his wooden template for the rear lexan window.

A new gusset to add additional strength to the steering box mounting and front panhard mount. You can't see it really well, but he also fully boxed around the mounting points for the steering box.

I also got some better shots of the upper radiator support/cooler mount.

The heart of the beast was on the stand looking mean, even in mock up trim.

Here's the driver's side header. Keep in mind, this is the first set of headers Ryan has ever built.

The modified "canned ham" power steering pump reservoir

Here's the cases, which he has fully rebuilt, along with the shifters he built. The arms will be trimmed to length after he builds the handles.

And one more just for fun. I can't wait to hear the noises that will emanate from this thing.

    Awesome.
So how much of the original jeep is still being used, aside from sheet metal?

the doors, windows, and windshield wiper mechanism are really the only jeep parts left that haven't been modified in some way.

Small update. I went over to St. John's a couple nights ago and he's been working on all sorts of interesting stuff, including some projects besides the Cheeromanche. I didn't bother taking pictures of that crap. He's been working on turbo piping, spares mounts, linkages, and logistical items one might need on the trail. Here's some photos.

These are of his spare oils tray (oil, atf, power steering fluid)

Next up is the toolbox on the other side:

These are shots of his spare part mounts he built behind the spare tire. No wasted space on this thing. He said he thought about the items that had failed him in the past and decided these were the three he needed to carry spares of: p/s pump, starter, and alternator.

    Here's some randoms/

Front Mount of Hilift that I hadn't gotten a pic of before:

Brake Proportioning Valve mounted so that it will stick out of the dash panel for easy on the fly adjustment:

Turbo downpipe and you can somewhat see the LS1 coils mounted on the bellhousing bolts:

Throttle linkage and another background shot of coils:

Cooling fans mounted for tranny cooler and power steering cooler (you can see the mounting brackets for the coilover reservoirs as well:
