Cack! I'm at work making a platform which is requiring numerous 90* bends. Just seems like it would be handy for something like this.

I know you have to account for spring back and that it's different for each size of tube.

The bender I used on the 4runner had one, and it came in very handy

Use a square. It works the same but is generally fixed at 90*.

If you're gonna be making the same bend over and over, figure out how far you need to go and mark it on the bender. Eventually you end up with lots of marks on the bender which would be really handy if you could remember what each was for.

total waste. Do you have a model of whatever it is you're building and know how many degrees each bend needs to be?

What do you people do when you stick a square, angle sticks whatever next to your tubing?

Do you taking the backing die out and the tube strap? I usually can't get whatever I'm using lined up well unless I remove those two things.

if you have enough straight tube on either side of the bend, just make sure the legs of your angle-ometer are parallel with them (eyeball from above) beyond the die. Would take forever if you had to take it all apart every time you wanted to check your angle. If it was super critical you could just pop off the strap and follower and measure the outside of the bend

i used a quick clamp to affix my angle-o-meter to the top of the bender just above the tube, then eyeball down the edge of the tube. it works really well, you can get very close that way.

i like the degree ring, of course I also use bendtec for some weird stuff. I think it comes in handy. It definetly helps the repeatablility of bends

    Glad you liked it feller

It really helped me once I slowed down and started paying attention to it.
