    new trailer

just got back from C&M trailer in Ennis, had this built, not too custom, but it is just as I wanted.

18', 6 1/4' wide, 5" channel side, 3" channel cross members, fold up ramps with spring assist, 2x7.5k axles with one bake.

$2,500, I thought about a gooseneck but it was just too much. Basically 500~700 extra for the trailer plus another 600 a truck (I have two so $1,200) that I would have to hork out. It comes close to another 2K for the same carrying capacity.

By buying a tongue pull I use it right away and it is versatile. I am going to buy a gooseneck next, some deck over that can carry 20~25K, so I can carry 2 skid steers or a box blade and a skid steer. But that can wait till I am more ghetto rich

as Dave once pointed out, I like the idea of being able to load a piece of equipment without the truck attached.

Those bring the suck if you have much gravel road/off-road driving to do. They have a bad habit of binding up, and it looks like it may be in a spot that would be hard to pull the pin and pull it up. Of course a small chunk of railroad tie would go good under it. Don't take this wrong though, if you plan on putting a small tractor or other equipment on it, it will be real nice.
