Great weekend. I am exhausted and work tomorrow is going to suck.

We headed out Friday around 1pm. I was pulling the Bronco and Colman was pulling the big trailer with the Blazer and PigPen, with Sharpe and Hodnett riding up front. Colman blew his first tire in Caldwell, bought a bottle jack at TSC and we had it changed in about 20minutes. The rest of the drive was uneventful and we were able to find K2 very easily.

We set up camp right in the middle of the site. The campsite seems a little smaller. It would be very crowded on a busy weekend. But they have a new concession stand that was open all weekend, including for breakfast. The tacos were delicious both Saturday and Sunday morning. They also now have a building with restrooms(in addition to the portapotties all around the campsite) and 4 showers. They also had 4-5 little cabins. Unsure on the price, or the ammenties that came with them, but they looked decent and had a bed in them.

Flem, Tommy, Sparling, Garrett, Zach, Shupe and some others showed up a little after dark. We drank beers and went to bed.

Drivers meeting was at 9pm they next morning. A quick look around the park and I realized how much this sport has really grown in 10 years. Some ridiculous buggies. We were definetely the scrubs out there. We hit up some trails that Randy told up should be easy to moderate first on the "back 40 trails" PigPen quickly sheared the yoke of the front shaft, and ran back to have Shain weld it back up. Hit several other random trails. Oprah got proper ****ed on several rocks, leaving her in dire need of a rear bumper. Shupe's Scout kept up but was in need of some carb tuning or TBI. The paint job looked sweet and it really is not too far off from being a capable little rig. Zach also damged his rear bumper, but did pretty well overall. Colman had his front shaft break the u-joint caps a couple of times, but never enough damage to keep him from putting it back together.

I was impressed again with the IROKS out there. Tons of grip. Sharpe, Colman, and I were all running the same size, albeit in 16", 16.5", and 17" varieties. My memory gets vauge but Pigpen ended up seizing up a steering box and getting back to camp on an assist to fullhydro conversion. Brian and I headed up the backside of what I think was Cyclops. He ended up shearing the leaf spring mount studs on his 60. With some creative winching, hi-lifting, and beer drinking, we somehow got down the trail, where his battery fell out. We hooked it to Bronco and hauled it and some firewood back to camp.

The trails seem to be marked better than K1, but more markings and signs would always be better. The had reflective highway markers stuck to the rocks to show you the trail, which is a great idea.

Alot of people left Saturday night, but we had a good time at camp. The BBQ was great. Thanks to everyone that put the time in.

The comp this morning was very informal. Maybe 4-5 buggies. Shain and Randy set up a course on Rippers Run. Pretty amazing what these buggies can do. After that, we ran a different timed course and the Bronco made it through pretty well, somehow only destroying a rear shock. I was flogging it pretty hard. Fun as hell.

Took off around 1pm. Colman blew his 2nd tire outside Milano. Luckily he had about 4 spares.

    Great weekend.

the new park is awesome, i liked it much more than the old park, there was some good carnage too..

Zach's jeep - some body damage
Oprah - some body damage and slight coolant leak
Pigpen - some thing with the steering and broke a drive shaft
General - a few u-joints, muffler fell off, sheared off the two studs in the dana 60 pumpkin(sweet trail fix pictures to come), toasted my battery (pictures to come later), more body damage
    JB'S Bronco - cracked windshield
    Sloth - electrical issues

all in all a great trip

I think the JB weld fixed the coolant leak.
