seriously? 2 little bolts under a whole lot of shear force? Also considering what we know about that frame so far I would stop no shorter than the bracket posted near the bottom of that page. It's not that hard to get a hold of a welder...you can even rent a 120 mig at Home Depot and weld it up well enough to drive it to a big welder
edit: I looked again and noticed there's a brace from there to the center of the crossmember...if that's solid it's probably okay

I am to some extent tryin to put the truck on a diet, with backpackers mentality. A pound here and a pound there will hopefully add up. I know that getting all my tools out of my bed toolbox helped a lot. Aluminum wheels will be worth about 40-50 pounds eventually. Stayin with a BFG type radial over a xlz or something will save 120-140 pounds. I am gonna lose a sub, and half the box, which will also give me more space behind the seat to stash a couple small things. Headers might even weigh less now that I think about it. I am curious what the TTB vs SAS looks like weight wise. I know that at one point my truck was at about 5500ish pounds. I would like to see what it was stock just for grins. Maybe some day I can get it down to 5000.
