Ok here we go...
CHEVY NEVER MADE 1 TON SUBURBANS. Feller, if you can provide me with a VIN or even pictures of the vehicle, axles, tonnage badges, build sheet, option codes, etc, I might believe one has slipped through the cracks, but I doubt it. I have been a member on CK5 for 4 years and no one has been able to turn up a factory 1 ton suburban yet so as far as I'm concerned they are like sasquatch. Everyone has seen one but no one can provide proof.
As far as nomenclature goes, as some of you know GM stopped making the "square body style" 1/2, 3/4, and regular cab 1 ton trucks in '88, but continued to make "square" blazers, suburbans, and crewcab 1 tons until '91. During the transitional period they differentiated the models by labeling the "new" (88+) body style as the C/K series with C being 2wd and K being 4wd and the "old" (square) body syle as the R/V series with R being 2wd and V being 4wd. Clear as mud?
As an example, a 4x4 1 ton regular cab 89 would be the "new" body style and be labeled a K3500, while a crewcab 4x4 1 ton 89 would be a "square" body style and labeled a V3500. GM also introduced extended cabs with the "new" body style in 88 and these were available on 1 tons.

well of course, now when I would need to prove it, I no longer no where they are. They were all sold off a couple of years ago, and even in the paper they were listed as three 3/4 tons, and two 1 tons. They were all white with tan vinyl interiors, with only 4 seats. Very stripped down, no AC or radio. Pure work truck. They were all bought when the surveying company wasn't started, so that put them in the mid to late 80s. The 3/4 tons had the ears that easily told me they were 10 bolts, but the other 2 had something much bigger, which I could only see as being a D60 (granted, at the time I did not know the other distinguishing marks of a D60).
