aw4 only shifts electronically when in drive, the rest of the gears are manually controlled. If you really want to go paddle shift I can rig something, but switches to shift the transmissoin sounds dumb.
on the 231, do a slip yoke eliminator and be done with it. It has a lower gear than the 300 anyway.
...
barely lower, 2.7 vs 2.6, and the 300 is stronger and has more upgrades. and there is a company that makes the switch pannel for the aw4 that goes somewhere near the center console. its a knob that you turn i believe. i haven't looked for it for a while but a few years ago people were going crazy over it.
Red 81 CJ5, 35's, 4.10 and detroit, 4 to 1 dana 300, tbi efi, flat belly, cage, chromos and auzzie in front... sometimes runs. body damage to come
does it go up to 11?
wagoneer 208 and doubler would be best
...
I think the main thing with the switches for the tranny is for the torque converter lock up. so its like a "manual tranny".. my cousin was thinkin about doing the same thing, hasn't done it yet though. I'd do it if it didn't cost too much $$.
ya my dad had an old plymouth wagon (surf wagon) with that.
i actually thought that would be funny to find and hook up to my dash
its not hard or expensive to do it all yourself for the "manual trans" buttons, there are tons of write ups on how to do it, maybe $20 for all the material needed

231 for you: http://www.texas4x4.org/showthread.php?t=26460
well i found another tcase a while back from a tj with an advance adapters sye already installed but not wheeled with, bought that and tried to install it but the input shaft was too long, so i took that and cut it down to match my old one, everything bolted right up.
Now i need a new rear driveshaft, i tried to put my front on the rear but at ride height, it was maxed out
is there another application that is slightly longer than a stock xj front
