"Hey doug what did you have for breakfast.....shoulda had a v8"
I kill myself
the engine in question is not my "heavy ass v-8" it is a 5.7 tbi vs. a 4.3 tbi. The weight difference there is not much. I would love to have a 5.7 TPI in my truck, I think it would be way cheaper to rebuild and make power out of. If I could find a 'vette 5.7 with aluminium heads, it would probably be lighter than a 4.3 or just the same weight. I agree that the IH V-8 is not a hot rod, and it is expensive to rebuild, but I haven't ran into one yet that needed a rebuild...Originally posted by eight
That V-6 will outrun your heavy ass V-8. But I think he should use a supercharged 3.8. I think that's what I want, and he needs to figure out how to make it work, so he can help with mine.

I know just what I'm lookin for
Thunderbird will do just fine.
Look assclowns, I'm not looking for a high powered engine. I want simple, reliable, and any parts store has the parts readily available if needed. **** I could also put a LS-1 in it, 345 HP, aluminum block only weighs 390 pounds. That would be ****in sweet huh? Find me onen for $500 and i'll do it. Also, there is a guy selling a Grand National engine in new jersey for $500 with the turbo. Now that would be sweet!!! And as far as engines sitting, look at how well my motorcycle is running! God ya'll are dumb.
P.S. Jimmy stuarts mom had the ****ty ford aerostar engine in it and ask Jerry what minivan and engine won the great minivan race of 1997. Thats right a 1987 GMC Safari with a 4.3, it would power brake all day long. That minivan is still in the family and my brother dreams of putting a 5.7 in it!! Now thats gay.

Dammit i forgot about that, our minivan pulled trailers around the Astrodome during the rodeo. Maybe it even pulled the trailer for the singers.... Damn our minivan is cool!

Lets see it was an '87, sorry is an '87 she is still alive and kicking, so maybe it pulled around the oakridge boys or dolly parton they were pretty popular back then. Elvira!!!Originally posted by Doug Krebs

Why not have all of that? It's not like a 350 is hard to get parts for either.Originally posted by Doug Krebs

A B3.9 Cummins is what you really need.
Yeah but 4.3's are much easier to find and are cheaper!Originally posted by Fredo
