if i make it out there you can take the blazer for a spin, but it is a full size on a slight diet

i think you need to give us a price range to work with, are we looking for a 500 beater or a 3-5k nice but capable rig
Red 81 CJ5, 35's, 4.10 and detroit, 4 to 1 dana 300, tbi efi, flat belly, cage, chromos and auzzie in front... sometimes runs. body damage to come

you have to periodically adjust them to keep it running
elevation and temperature require more adjustment
when you get at an angle where you are ready to poo yourself they flood and die
they always run richer than they should, engine longevity is an issue (100k on an engine was a huge deal to my parents, 200k is the new 100k thanks to excess fuel not diluting the oil)
fuel mileage sucks on a wheeling rig, carb'd fuel mileage really sucks
you smell like you just got done mowing the lawn every time you drive
you usually get better ignition with efi
TBI aside, crappy stock efi intake manifolds are better flowing than the most kickass of carb intakes
efi fuel pumps have to be replaced some times, carb fuel pumps have to be replaced much more frequently
plug in a laptop to see whats wrong
you can put a whole bag of chips on efi
its just a better option, especially for something that gets parked 340 days out of the year. You don't want to mess with it the few times you get to use it.
...
rochesters are really good at keeping a tune
who are we talking about here?
see above
most carb'd trucks have been rebuilt already. we are talking about a wheeling rig too
whoop-i-do
carbs pour fuel on you?
MSD
performance? honestly?
i have never replaced a manual fuel pump on any truck i owned or dealt with with a carb, FI-about everyone. EFI pumps also cost alot more than carb.
isnt too terribly hard to diagnose a carb truck. FI brings the suck
all that said i am trying to build yet another EFI rig. but from what ive talked to courtney about. she merely wants something big. hell, she likes danny's piece. it wont be much of a dedicated wheeler to bash around like the rest of us want.
*i believe* she wants something from big gay truck land, not something economical and smart.

Price range, Daily Driver or not. Those will determine a whole lot. I am with flem/JB type opinion so far though. But thought and secretly hope for the same thing Jimmy said!

I have also wheeled and owned fullsizes. For mudding, playing in the sand and going camping they great. When it comes to running trails they stArt to lose some of their appeal. Going up steep inclines you will be very nervous about what is on the otherside because the hoods are so hard to see around or over. Also most trails are not built for the width of a fullsize truck, so eventually get dents in the body no matter what trails you are running.
My personal suggestion would be a jeep Cherokee. Also if this needs to be a daily driver I would stay away from vehicles that are already lifted and have lots of mods. This usually means that they have been beat on by the previous owner. Whatever you decide glad to see you are getting a rig.
He who dies with the most **** wins, after seeing your collection you are in the lead no doubt!
