Do your kids want to build me a rear bumper? I havent found out how we are fixing the Bobcat yet, hopefully they will just get a mobile welder out there.

You really don't need much for a fairlead mount. You can see mine here...it's just a piece of 1/4" plate bent to a 90 and the fairlead is bolted to it.

bought a piece of 5/16th angle that is 3.5" one side and 5" on the other. Plan on clearancing some for the winch and cable and bolting it to the bumper and fairlead.

Should be done soon, just have to go play with the plasma cutter.

Final one with the materials I have.

All of the force is lateral and vertical for the most part. No pushing or pulling, so the gussets add strength in the wrong direction. It's 5/16ths. Don't see it breaking. Only one way to find out I guess.

Gussets are never counter productive, even if they are not getting pushed on they will add strength, it wouldnt take much and if it was me i would still put in some small gussets on it

I don't know if 5/16" will be thick enough man. Might need to go with 5/8" or 3/4". I think you really need to go back to the drawing board on this and come up with another 7 or 8 designs before deciding.

I'll probably add some just for ****s and giggles. I have some extra 3/16ths plate, might as well.

There are no speed holes in it? What a POS....

On a side note, you might want to put a few holes in the center to allow mud to wash out, or put a slot in the front to spray out with a garden hose. I find my winch hides mud.
