For the record, I took the klogger to Clayton with 42's with dana 60's 5.13 gears front and rear without hydro-assist and it ran a good 5 hours before the fan tensioner went out, after I fixed the distributor shaft.... So yes you can steer, Tommy should not have axle wrap, and he should not break too much because he does not have gears. This thing with current set up would be a mud machine!

I'm not saying its indestructable by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm not on half ton axles anymore. Everyone likes to **** all over my truck but the fact is I wheel as much as anyone on here and the last time I broke anything drivetrain wise was when I was on half tons.

I'm the only person here that catches **** for having one tons and 42"s. Yes the wheels are ****ty, but if you knew the deal I got on the tires you wouldn't complain. I got a set of 42"s for a steal that had 8x170mm wheels, what's the problem?

I was not planning on getting 42"s, but I came across a deal I couldn't pass up.

If you decide that i'm going to blow **** up, give me a reason. Don't just say that you're excited to see me break, it's ridiculous.

That being said, I know my weak points and I'm working on it. I get paid minimum wage and only get 15 hours a week. I can't afford to do everything at once.

Cage has now become #1 priority, things can get sketchy quickly with big tires.

The cage is dependent on what body I do with the body. I don't want to build a cage for this body because it won't fit in the new body. Same with bumpers and sliders. The body mods will take time, more time than I have between now and TCC

    Probably gears and hydro assist.

i know because i've already been there. tires that big are hard on everything. i couldn't steer worth a **** once i went bigger than 35s with mechanical steering.

just because ****'s a good deal doesn't mean it's a good idea. just sayin.

I was defending the 42's and no hydro...

I have cut broncos up, the metal that goes into the roof is surprisingly little. From what I gather in this thread he has body swap plans or something and does not want to do a full out cage, I would feel better wheeling it after buying one or 2 sticks of tube and putting a hoop with a kicker to the frame. It takes a day to do, you have the tools and it is cheaper than hydro or gears. I personally after seeing Cook roll decided a cage was important, before that I thought, oh it won't happen, Cook was amazingly lucky, neither him nor the passenger even had belts on! Look at Jimmy's Scout, he was not even doing a hard trail... Seacrest rolled while driving in the mud hole at alto this year... That **** happens and a stock bronco roof offers as much protection as pulling out does...

If he had the stock roll bar I was going to suggest tieing it to the frame and getting on with life.

    I know, I wasn't talking about you

I know I need a cage, but i'm not going to build a cage until I put the new body on. As soon as I have the new body bolted on it's getting a cage because I have to build a cage for the seat mounts and dash.
