I scrolled up after firing off that post. Congrats. The 140 is a good little welder to start with. I would just get a scrap piece of plate and start running beads down it. Then, when you get the rythm and look of the weld going your way, start trying to do overlap welds and butt welds. Clean steel is your friend.
