Man. I'm just going to leave my truck home. Dibs on back seat and some trail mix!
I need the genesis back
Awesome. I'll see if I can find it.
We need an nes and ivan stewart racing to make it perfect.
got the front installed and put back together.
I'm still waiting for the rovertym upper a-arm extension that I ordered 3 weeks ago and the rear shocks haven't been installed yet, but I took it for a test drive anyway. I think the spindle clearances are going to work. Lots of vibes, going to swap to the series 2 CV driveshaft later this week and hopefully the rear is fixed with the a-arm extension.
so rovertyme sucks. the a-arm extension they make is a solid bar around 3x3x6, way overpriced for what it is, heavy as hell, took 3.5 weeks to get here, and it didn't fit.
The guy said I could return it, thought about it, but 2 weeks until clayton and I've got other stuff to sort out on the vehicle that requires correct suspension geometry so I put the grinder to it until it fit.
Post clayton its getting replaced with some flemco ****.
Post a pic of this thing. Sounds heavy
It's retarded how much this thing weighs, and people regularly bolt this on to their suspension.

I hope you didn't pay to much for that, could have made that for you out of scrap metal from work
When I was planning this project I picked up a set of these from Truck Magic

Got them installed today.
**** yeah, this thing is the best vehicle ever
Got the front tom woods cv shaft installed. Vibration free during the test drive that according to DPD exceeded speeds of 50 mph.
Did they get you for expired registration too?
This thing does drive freakishly well though. I piloted it to eat wings saturday night and it did very well in all tests except the "slalom course". The brakes were a bit on the weak side, but a little more bleeding and I think they'll be good. Also, the shifter requires an inebriated co-pilot, as do the window switches, but they "work" which is more than can be said about most Land Rovers. :)
I will have to say, it is the tallest Discovery I've ever seen. Can't wait to see how it does in Clayton.
The drivers side tail light was/is out too
I think it's been out as long as I've know Flem. :)
all i got pinched for was the registration, though I did have to sit in the cold for half an hour while waiting for the man's decision
it could have been the much worse 'driving like an asshole' charge
so I've been fighting an oil leak for probably 2 years. Tonight I found it after a year of throwing parts at it trying to make it go away. The oil was leaking through the electrical plug of the oil pressure switch.
made it to work, if it makes it home I think its good to go
Dammit, the oil pressure sender? That's the same kind of leak we had on Jimmy's boat. I didn't know there was a sender down there on the front of the motor on a rover. Glad you finally found it.
Congrats on making it to work. Any of your coworkers say anything?
no one said anything yet. sender is on the passenger side of the timing cover, the fan must have been blowing it everywhere.
uh oh, I smell burnt toast
I think that means you are having a stroke.
What motor is that?
Toby's engine? Oprah's original?
4.6 ****
I think this summer when its too hot to wheel its time to put a bigger crankshaft and bigger camshaft in the engine
232 grind? http://www.crower.com/catalogsearch/...t=1003&q=buick
I think I've got the 229 grind in there now
balls
6 year old cap and rotor are due for a change. It was running ****ty.
shock time too.
nice, very good choice. didn't think u wanted the resi?
thanks. I didn't think the reservoir would fit, but I've got a few ideas. I went with 360/80 valving at all 4 corners. Know where I can get a 1/2" weld stud for the shocks? Something like this? http://www.the-jeep-guy.com/SUSPENTI...0weld%20on.jpg
I need to make new upper rear mounts.
Also, think I can get away with no limit straps for a few trips, or will the bottom rip out of these things?
smileys has'em I think they are in the fab parts bins but maybe not that long. round stock, a die and a hole saw cut out and you would have it whipped. plenty of cars use the shocks as the extension limiter, i see no problem in it unless u plan on airin that rover out alot
Got Kings brah
Did you figure out how to keep the coil springs from falling out?
yeah, installed these

you gonna be around this weekend?
yes, hopefully mounting shocks. I also bought some of those magic beads that you mix with paint to make lizard skin and would like to shoot that after cars and coffee.
magic beads?
