I just sent Gma a picture of the h1's, and she replied:
"JUST HOPE NO ONE TRIES TO STEAL THEM."
:gigem:
makes me think of this line.
they were gone like a set of rims at a puff daddy concert....

Sharpe, did you say you needed some o-rings for the H1's??? I should have a few extra in the mail soon.
No I have em. Got the o-rings and nuts with my centers.
i need some plastic centers and orings
ok, cool.
no gottem plastic centers, and just found out the o-rings got returned for some dumbass reason.
Returned? i have them at the house
ok, maybe it was the steering part. It was a fedex package. I will check again on it.
EDIT:It was the tach and dimmer switch from jegs.
steering finished, I drove it down the road today. It steers better than the jeep or the Ford. Its quick too.
Flem or krebs I need to limit the ram, can you machine derlin?
it is possible, I don't have any tools
Well, I took her out on the road today. It steers almost too quick as of right now. I need to fiddle with the toe-in a bit more to see if it helps any. The to in is at about 1" right now and I don't think it is enough. What are you guys that are running big meats using on yours? I do know, I need a sway bar because the body roll in acceleration/deceleration causes some wicked steering going down the road. It's probably not that bad if you were to drive it more and get used to it. The best I could get out of it was 52 mph (and I think it is about 3-5 mph slow so I need to check it with the GPS tomorrow) and I think some of that may be from the crushed right exhaust pipe.
I installed the Mad 4WD High steer arms and put the tie-rod right at 7"s from the center of the kingpin. This calculates out to right at 70 degrees of total steering angle and puts the tires right at the leafs when the cylinder hits lock. I tested the steering once I put the drive slug back in the right hub and it didn't have any problem turning the tires on the cement. I will have to check it aired down and in the dirt and on some hills to see what it's going to do. I believe that the steering issues are taken care of though.
The rear cross member came out nicely also. I had to squeeze the bottom of the frame back in 2"s to get it back straight. I used 2x2x1/4" square tubing for it and added a receiver hitch on the top for an extraction point. I also cut out some old crappy braces from the PO that were used for the rear ball. This freed up plenty of room on the underside which should give me room to move a propane tank or air tank under the bed now.
The front pinion seal was leaking, so I replaced that seal. It was caused by the pinion nut backing off so I threw plenty of loctite on it and hit it with the 3/4" impact and called it good. Once I find the bolts for the roughcountry diff cover, I will change the fluid out in there too.
I will try to get pictures up tomorrow.
pics or we are no longer friends :D
hey is my recovery strap in the back of the beast?
You will get use to the quick steering, I think that it steers better than the ford does
looks good
yeah those arms look alot better.
I will pick up the strap the next time I am headed to Dallas, no big hurry I just wondered where it was, hide it in one of your tool boxes though so it doesn't dissapeer

Possible rod ends for when/if I ever link this pile up...
**** To Do List:
- Mount Radiator (either build better mount for existing radiator, or install newish aluminum radiator and get new fan. leaning towards just building a good mount for the existing one)
- Replace bolts for front of bed.
- Mount rock ring outter on H1's up front.
- Install tunes.
- Flush diffs, install new diff covers, fill with fluid and repair breather tubes.
- Finish up cutting brakes.
- Install rock lights.
- Get exhaust redone.
- Replace front windshield (not a necessity at this time, but it is getting pretty close to being pretty fubar'ed).
- Groove boggers.
- Install 2nd propane tank mount and cut sight hole in side of bed.
- Clearance rear fenders.
- Build tube tailgate and skin with original tailgate.
If I make it into TTC, it will need waterproofing (snorkel and distributor) plus a 15/16.5k lb winch (which will need to be hard mounted instead of on the cradle like the 9.5ti I have now)
Which hi steer arms are those, and where did you get them
sexy
:)
the ones on the truck don't and that's all that counts ;)
:flipoff2:
(I didn't even notice it till you pointed it out though  )

Single wheel hubs so you can run the sexy wheels in the front too
and I thought I had finally been able to mothball the checkbook for a while. You suck!
He can send them with bearings and all, so it might be a good time to get it all done now. Gma said she stock up on Grands Biscuits before they get it. I would hate for you to put these, the diff covers and swap the tires out on an empty stomach! ;)
im pretty close now eddie, like i have anything else better to do on the weekends
I just figured you would be booked up by now. ;)

Cool beans though. I will holler at ya when I get ready to round start rounding up the parts.
oh man, you might be better off just having it hauled to Corpus Chrusti again
With the news of Obamas August pull out deadline recently, I am just about going to have to mothball this mofo until I get everything else settled so that I can actually afford to have a 'real' job again.
its at a good point right now
Just about have the winch and radiator finished. The winch is bolted down, it just needs the rope spooled on it and power wires run to it. The radiator mounts are in, just need to set it in tomorrow and mount the fans, hook the hoses back up and fill with anti-freeze.
I need to go to town and pick up RTV and gear oil for the diffs so I can get the covers put on, and run by the muffler shop to get some pipe to replace the crushed piece that ran under the atlas crossmember. I am not too worried about the lights right now, just need to get it wheelable for now. It's getting pretty close though.
I got the winch mounted, but it didn't pan out like I was planning it at first. I think it will work fine though. I am not sure if that is the right roller fairlead to use, but it will have to work for now. It is wired up and the switch in the cab works it great. Just need to wind the wire rope on it now.

found this when I pulled the diff covers off to mount the new ones from ruffstuff. I think Mr. Pinion got to know Mrs. Detroit intimately...
