yes the vettes with the crossfire injection had dual tbi
Anyone know if they made it? Creightons facebook status didnt sound good.
Tommy said they just got there. There was something about the highway being shut down for a goat too
I'll bite, i know nothing on either, but since its apparently an issue, anyone care to educate me?
Crossfire is more like taking a stock tbi, cutting it in half, then scattering the carcasses towards opposite corners of the engine. Still only 2 barrels, 2 injectors with individual drivers.
The issue is, although we have seen a few pictures of a 2x4 intake set up for a dual tbi on a small block, and even found out that howell and turbo city sold a kit for it, we have been unable to find anyone that has completed a running setup. Even though there have been a few to claim they have, there is no proof. What is so special about this setup is it is the first known dual tbi setup on a big block and the icing on the cake is that it runs a stock computer. Flem knows a lot more about this then I do, so I'll let him chime in on the rest.
As for the crossfire setup, as flem explained to me it is two single barrel tb's with one injector for each, and everything i have read on them is that they suck! They are by no means comparible to what we have done for Ed's truck. Rowdy is dumb.
Now with all that being said, the setup we are running is virtually untested and we are still trying to figure out what it needs to run at maximum potential. Once Flem is able to get a bit more tune time on the truck I think it will be a whole nother animal from what it has already become. He is even working on figuring up something for cook's red truck. Viva la ****ty Fuel Injection
edit: I know this might not seem like a big deal to a lot of people, but with the complexity that has gone into it, its a pretty cool accomplishment and im pround to say i helped out. With all the crap we have had to go through with this truck and the hurdles that had to be jumped, we did the best we could!

it has been done, bummer
wait, theres still a chance. I think they are using this http://www.dynamicefi.com/
we're going to get this thing on a technicality one way or another
Anyone heard from them? This is the only proof I've found that they made it. I wonder where the air cleaner went.
wow that ranger makes the beast's 44s look like street tires
i just heard from tommy, he was trying to figure out what fitting he needed to get for the steering
sounds like someone jack knifed a gooseneck. bet that doesn't stay in vegas.

But I think we need insider updates. Anyone heard anything else?
Im sorry i dont know all about the great usage of ****ty fuel injection out there clarke. im not even gonna argue the point.
rowdy shut up. go quit another job or something
Talked to sharpe a few times today; ed didnt get last in the hill climb, something like 7th or 8th but the climate change iis causeing problems with the motor, after a timing advance sharpe said it started to run better. He didnt get to do the frame twister due to the fact of so many dnf's, and he got half way through the mud pit, and finished mid pack in the event beating out "fat girl". Thats all i got for now im sure i will get an update tomorrow, sounds like the beast is holding together and keeping close pace to the much better built rigs
Shut yo mouth karl....
I am sitting outside napa waiting on them to open up. Collector flange bolts came loose on pass side, giving a nice flame show evidently in the mud pit. The announcer said the headers were glowing, and it was still daylight. :D

Sweet! I'm glad to hear he's making a good show of it with all of that last minute work.
Sounds like she may be a little rich. Unplug one of those TBIs and she'll run like a top!
I'm glad its working out and glad you didnt get to do frame twister. Thats the event thats always made me cringe for the rigs in TTC. Nice to see the sheetmetal on there too.
Good job getting this thing done in time for the event guys, except for you clarke, you still suck.
a littlte rich maybe, needs smaller injectors, but still within range on the wide band.
and john, atleast im not a interweb **** talking piece of ****
so are you guys competing or still running as an alternate?
muahahaha. dont get me started on the stupidity of donks and motorized bicycles.
Donks= what i do at a job
Happytimes= what i do for fun just as you waste all your money on guns
and dont you own a bright ass yellow scout that doesnt run? just as retarded as a donk imo
pot meet kettle
STFU and take your petty **** somewhere else.
What did y'all end up running for injectors? last i heard y'all were using 4.3L injectors with the standard small block throttle bodies?
Or is everything still hush hush till its all dialed in?
Glad to hear it made it and atleast running around.
Anybody have any updates? I swear i've seen the same pictures on the TTC facebook page and on pirate 20 times today looking for pictures of ed's truck on the course but no dice.
Scout runs fine.
I've got no beef with Clarke other than the fact that he's a giant vajayjay and deserves to be jacked with for getting his panties in a wad over nothing and suddenly hating me because of a comment I made on the internet. I eat pieces of **** like you for breakfast.
Where's the pics and tech for this magical dual TBI? What kind of intake did y'all use?
i heard from sharpe last night, they didnt get to run any events yesterday due to everyone else breakin and taking forever. The big ranger busted a tranny as well.
John, the engine setup is a mark V block, partiot heads with big valves, and a edelbrock performer rpm 2x4 intake. The problem with this setup is it was all based around ed eventually switching to a mark IV block, stroking it to 496 of 511, and raising the CR to around 11:1. As it sits right now the heads are way to big for the cam and low CR, which is causeing some of the tuning issues. I think once the motor is built like ed wants then we can really start making power. I read up on a similar build where a guy useed dual 650's and made almost 700hp with a slighty larger cam but with the LSA of 112* which is still tbi friendly
no time for pics during the build, ill get some when they get back.
Ed said, "That ranger is sick. They cracked a transfer case, then ran the mud pit w/ the hole siliconed up an blew out the C6 pump seals. They were pullin the tranny last night to try and fix it."
So I don't know if he meant sick good or sick bad.:flipoff2:
Looking forward to the build details. Ed will be dangerous with that kind of power.
looks like the ttc officials are being little bitches. that sucks especially after he spent so much money on fat girl...Quote:

too bad it wasn't a truck so ed could be a competitor.
both carwash and fatgirl are dq'd looks like the guys from guam will walk away from it
