Oh is that how floods work...
You would figure if that was the case there would be more than q 30 percent chance of rain, especially since alto is dead in the middle if thier green-zone.

And it doesn't look like alto is getting any of this rain.
No, that's how flash floods work. A flood would be from immense rainfall upriver, accumulating in a main level 3 waterway through the channeling of level 1 and 2 tributaries resulting in a surge of the water line downstream.
On a separate note:
Less than 1" of rain in my part of Dallas so far but they did say some localized areas would see 7"+ out in West Texas. That is prob. why they were saying "Too much too fast"
What determines when a burn ban is placed and when it is lifted? I am not trying to burn anything, but the dumbass down the road has a mountain of trash that has been accumulating for months. I know he is going to try and burn it.
It is based off fuel to moisture data percentages. Not so much the actual percentage; that is to say that there isn't a threshold at which when the moisture level declines to does it trigger a ban; it's more based off a qualitative analysis of the rate at which the ratio is falling.
Different authoritative entities do it a bit differently and they all manage their land independently so Texas Forest Service will be a bit different then TPWD and their decisions for implementing or lifting a ban will be independently based on their own data.
TPWD collects fuel to moisture data on the two dominant canopy species of the area (so say ashe juniper and post oak) with samples taken from plants with a diameter at breast height of 4" or greater. A 10 oz sample of foliage is taken for each species type and then the moisture is removed at varying intervals of time by using an oven or microwave. With the sample being re-weighed after each session. When the weight change stops then you calculate the % of reduction and you can figure out your moisture to fuel ratio for that given area/species/time.
There has been a lot of criticism in this technique as true randomization will never occur and large errors from technique and technician bias are almost inevitable.
Rain is getting close to alto!
there are too many big words in this thread... to turn this back around I will leave this gem
I know I have already posted this, but not in this thread
It's raining in alto!!!1.
Thank you sweet 6 pound 3 ounce baby jesus!
I am definetly in, I do need a trail seat however and room for my cooler.
NOAA says that it has rained 0.85" of rain in Alto today so far. With more possible rain tonight, tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Time will tell.
I had to go pull some kid in a 2wd 1500 z71 out of the mud off emerald pkwy earlier, got me pumped
Can someone tow the Microwave? Ass, gas, grass... lemme know...
I don't think cory is gonna be able to make it, and I just got the truck back on the road today... I'd hate to miss this.
My number is 713-470-7658
Thanks
I dont know when they started it but i know the 2011s are that way.
No, the transfer case wouldn't engage.
Z71s have been 4x4 or 2wds for years now, its just a trim package Pics?
chevy started making z71 just a suspension package in 2007 with the new body styles. it also started producing z71 3/4 tons. If a truck is 4x4 it will have a z71 4x4 sticker now. It is the same way with colorados, except z71 has always just been a suspension package with them since they were introduced in 2004
What is wrong with this thread?
1 - Not enough pictures to get people into the SHiloh minset.
2 - Way to much talk about 2wd Z71s
3 - A whole bunch of bodies going, but not too many rigs
And my kinetics prof just scheduled a test for Friday 7-9pm...
Thats blows.
The beginning of the end for my bronco, circa 2006:
