did you use syncromesh transmission fluid. if you don't use that in 3550 and 4500 it will eat syncros

Well the wt d30 I have is 3.31 and I picked up a wide track 1986 d44 with 2.73. So it looks like I will be rearing something. Probably start the restoration in about 3 months. Still time to decide.
