I wanted the TBI stuff. I think this has been discussed before, will a 4.3 tbi setup work on a v8, with change of injectors/computer?

yes, you will have to change the injectors and chip, then find a v8 distributor.

You can borrow that crap from the 4.3 in my garage if you want. It's not like it's going to be used anytime soon.

I had forgotten this thing had a TPI unit sitting on it. Why wouldn't you just get that running? You're going to go through just as much wiring and plumbing work as you would with TBI, and with TPI, you'd end up with an injection system that makes a ****-ton of torque compared to TBI.

I'm not scared of TBI. If you remember, that's what's been on my scout for about 5 years now. It works good. I'm just saying that instead of trying to source additional parts, he could spend the time and effort on the TPI for the same amount of plumbing and wiring work and not only use something he already has, but end up with a more powerful, responsive engine to boot.

Well, the only thing that could really be wrong with it is dead sensors, or a bad harness. Turns out I'm sure has multiple spares of these parts sitting in a corner of his apartment in College station. I he doesn't, I do. Even if the injectors are bad, I've got a set of 24#'s from an LT1 sitting on my desk at home that I'll give you. Just get a case of beer, and a bottle of Jim, and invite me and flem down for a weekend.

He mentioned a 4.3 TBI, so I was curious if there was an engine with it. I'd like to swap in a V6 or V8 at some point
